I got up when my alarm went off, had breakfast *in my apartment* (not the car! not my desk at work!) and was in a great mood all morning.

Meeting with the mortgage consultant tomorrow. Hopefully she won't laugh me out of her office for thinking that it might be possible for me to buy a house. We'll see.

Powered by Photoblog.com

Oops. I teach class at 9:30, and planned to arrive around 8 to make lesson plans. Oops.

I love that it's light in the evening, but I hate that it's still dark when I get up.

Flute recital tonight- Bach, Griffes, and Copland. Next week I have three recitals and three recital juries. *sigh* At least I won't be bored.

Powered by Photoblog.com

Taught class, rehearsed with a few people, accompanied a flute lesson...

I wasn't too productive today in terms of work stuff, but I can't say I'm really sorry about it. Tonight's flute dress rehearsal went reasonably well, and I think I'm somewhat ready for class in the morning (famous last words?). 41 more days of the semester!! We're also more than halfway through Lent, which I think is pretty cool. Yaaaaaay Easter :)

Powered by Photoblog.com

(Grandma fell again, broke her phone, and lost a hearing aid. All in one day.) But honestly, it's no big deal. No broken bones this time, and the phone and hearing aid can be replaced.

Rebecca, Rob, and Leigh stayed till this morning, and the Clarkes were here until relatively late last night. (Lily agrees whole-heartedly. She is having a fantastic week.)

Only my grandpa would get so many baseball references and a Yogi Berra quote in the sermon in his memorial. I played Rachmaninoff, and it went well. The piano was incredibly out of tune, but I didn't care. I doubt Grandpa would have, and that makes it okay.

I had to sit on the end of the pew so that I could get out to play, and that turned out to be the 'receiving' end of the row. During communion I got everything from slaps on the back to teary kisses on the cheek to enthusiastic compliments on my playing (as though I had just given some kind of flashy performance?) as people walked by.

Robbie and I kept an eye out for the tangerine red-haired man in the congregation. He had a terrible, terrible dye job, but it made us laugh and helped us hold things together. Again, I think Grandpa probably would have been cracking jokes right along with us. He was usually one to lighten the mood when things got too heavy, so we were just following in his footsteps. Or something. Wonder how that man achieved such a color... it really was striking.

Powered by Photoblog.com
